Officials said AI-based videos related to the Prime Minister and the Election Commission were doing the rounds on X. Therefore, the Kerala Cyber Police took action and registered a case on the social media platform. The move follows concerns about the growing use of AI-generated content online.

“Those videos are misleading the public and defaming the Prime Minister of the country and the Election Commission. They were created to have a negative impact on the conduct of free and fair elections. That is why action had to be taken against them,” the cyber police said. The statement highlights the seriousness of the issue.

Meanwhile, the case was also registered at the Cyber Crime police station in Thiruvananthapuram against a user account that posted the AI videos. The authorities included the platform X in the case as well. However, officials have not shared further details about the accounts involved.

The police said they are investigating the matter. Also, they are examining how the videos were created and shared. The case reflects rising concerns over the misuse of artificial intelligence tools on social media. It also points to the need for monitoring such content, especially during sensitive periods.
