Police said the group helped fraud networks run social media ads. These ads lured victims with false profit claims.

Police identified the accused as Mohammed Syeed Uddin alias Farid, Mohd Tajuddin, Mohd Younis, and MD Ayub. All belong to the Charminar zone of Hyderabad.

Officers said the accused arranged SIM cards in the names of relatives and friends. Later, these SIM cards supported online betting fraud.

Police said a 36 year old Hyderabad man filed the complaint. He received WhatsApp messages in 2025. The senders claimed links to a betting platform.

They promised high returns through cricket betting and casino games. At first, he invested Rs 20,001. He received Rs 5,000 as profit. So he trusted the platform.

Later, the victim made many deposits. He used bank transfers, UPI, QR codes, and cash deposit machines.

Between 2025 and January 2026, he deposited about Rs 1.5 crore. Though he received about Rs 20 lakh at first, he later lost all funds. The fraudsters blocked withdrawals and pushed him to invest more.

Police said the main accused earlier worked in a betting call centre in Dubai. After returning, he collected SIM cards through local contacts. He paid Rs 600 for each SIM.

Later, he supplied about 250 SIM cards to another suspect. Police said these SIM cards supported betting rackets.

Investigators said the gang used fake customer care calls. They guided victims to open accounts. They also pushed them to place bets. At first, they showed small profits.

Police registered a case under IT Act sections 66C and 66D. They also invoked BNS sections on cheating.

In addition, they applied sections of the Telangana Gaming Act. The probe is still on.

Police seized five mobile phones from the accused. Teams are now tracking money trails. They are also trying to catch other suspects. Officers are working to freeze linked bank accounts.
