Hyderabad, March 12: Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund has been launched by Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Limited as its first investment strategy under the newly introduced Specialized Investment Funds framework. The asset manager announced that the New Fund Offer will remain open for subscription from March 6, 2026 to March 18, 2026.

Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Limited was incorporated in 1994. Aditya Birla Capital Limited and Sun Life India AMC Investments Inc are the promoters and major shareholders of the company. The company primarily acts as the investment manager for Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, a trust registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882.

Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund Designed for Diversified Investment Strategy

The Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund has been introduced as an investment option for investors seeking diversified portfolio strategies. The strategy requires a minimum investment of Rs. 10 lakhs. The fund is positioned between traditional mutual funds and higher ticket investment options such as Portfolio Management Services and Alternative Investment Funds.

Meanwhile, the strategy combines equity, debt and derivatives. The objective is to deliver better risk adjusted returns across market cycles. The fund also aims to manage volatile market conditions more effectively than traditional long only funds.

According to the announcement, the long-short approach allows the fund to use advanced risk management methods. Therefore, the strategy seeks to mitigate downside risks while maintaining opportunities for returns. The fund also aims to capture strategic alpha by leveraging opportunities arising from corporate actions and special circumstances beyond core equities.

Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund Introduced Under Specialized Investment Funds

The Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund has been launched under the Specialized Investment Fund framework. In addition, investors may benefit from equity like tax treatment. Long term capital gains tax of 12.5 percent plus applicable surcharge and cess applies to investments held for more than 12 months.
