Hyderabad: Central Bank of India has appointed Pichayya Muthiah as General Manager and Zonal Head for the Hyderabad zone. The bank announced the appointment through an official press release on Monday.
Muthiah has taken charge of the Hyderabad zone, which covers seven regions across Telangana and Karnataka. Therefore, he will now oversee operations and business growth in two key southern states.
He began his career with Central Bank of India on December 9, 1993, as a clerk. Since then, he has built more than three decades of experience in different areas of banking.
Central Bank of India appoints Muthiah
During his long career, Muthiah held several important positions in the bank. He served as Regional Head in Chennai, Nagpur and Kolkata South. As a result, he gained wide administrative and field experience.
He also developed strong expertise in digital payments and transaction banking. Moreover, he worked extensively in these areas at the bank’s central office.
The bank said his leadership skills and professional experience led to his promotion as General Manager. Therefore, the management selected him to lead the Hyderabad zone.
In his new role, Muthiah will focus on improving operational efficiency. In addition, he will work to expand business in line with the bank’s long term strategy.
The Hyderabad zone remains important for the bank because it covers growing urban and semi urban markets in Telangana and Karnataka. Hence, the appointment comes at a key time for regional expansion.
Bank officials expressed confidence that Muthiah’s experience would help strengthen customer services and improve performance across the zone.
