Delhi/Hyderabad, June 11 (Maxim News): It is known that Meenakshi Natarajan’s nomination for the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh was rejected. However, Meenakshi approached the Supreme Court today to take up the matter immediately. The Supreme Court today announced that the petition will be taken up on Friday. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi is arguing on behalf of Meenakshi. He told the court that Meenakshi’s nomination was wrongly rejected. But it seems that the Supreme Court has told Meenakshi that she should file an election petition only after the Rajya Sabha election process is over. A bench comprising Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice AS Chandurkar agreed to hear the case.
Elections for three Rajya Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh will be held on June 18. However, an unexpected development took place on Tuesday. Madhya Pradesh Rajya Sabha Election Returning Officer Arvind Sharma suddenly rejected Meenakshi Natarajan’s petition. This has left the Congress party in a quandary. Arvind Sharma mentioned in his order that Meenakshi had submitted incomplete documents. The R.O. said that she had not mentioned the fact that there was a court case against her in Form 26.
The Returning Officer said that Natarajan responded to the notice to the Hyderabad court in October 2025, but did not mention this in Form 26. BJP candidate Mahesh Kewat stated in his complaint that a case has been registered against Meenakshi in Telangana. The last date for filing nominations is June 8. The papers were scrutinized on Tuesday. (Maxim News)
