Hyderabad, August 30: The University College of Engineering (UCE), Osmania University, celebrated Graduation Day 2026 at Tagore Auditorium on August 29, marking a major academic milestone for its graduating students.
Nearly 1,200 students, parents, faculty members and guests attended the ceremony. The event included 530 graduating students from the college.
Academic excellence was recognised through the presentation of 31 Gold Medals, 88 Cash Awards and 27 Rank Certificates to meritorious students.
UCE Graduation Day Honours Academic Excellence
The chief guest, Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram, congratulated the graduating students, rank holders and gold medallists. He urged them to uphold the values and legacy of their alma mater as they begin their professional journeys.
Addressing the graduates, Prof. Molugaram asked them to remain grateful to their professors, parents and alma mater for supporting their education and future.
He also stressed the importance of personal responsibility alongside professional skills. He advised students to develop three basic qualities: civic sense, road sense and common sense.
The Vice-Chancellor further encouraged the graduates to become lifelong learners and continuously update their skills and knowledge to remain competitive in a rapidly changing world.
On the occasion, UCE conferred the Distinguished Alumnus Award 2026 on Dr. Anesh Kumar Sharma, Outstanding Scientist and Director of the Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL), Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
Dr. Sharma congratulated the graduating students and advised them to keep pace with rapidly evolving technologies. He emphasised the importance of combining smart work with hard work and said sustained effort has no substitute.
He also encouraged the graduates to remain connected with Osmania University and contribute to the institution whenever possible.
Earlier, UCE Principal Prof. P. Chandra Sekhar welcomed the gathering and highlighted the college’s academic and developmental initiatives.

Prof. L. Siva Rama Krishna, Director of Evaluation, Examination Cell, UCE, presented an overview of Graduation Day 2026. He also expressed gratitude to donors whose contributions supported the Gold Medals, Cash Awards and Rank Certificates.
Senior faculty members, including Prof. A. Krishnaiah, Dean, Faculty of Engineering; Prof. P. Usha Sri, Director, CDAAC; and Prof. B. Mangu, along with Heads of Departments, Chairpersons of Boards of Studies and faculty members, participated in the ceremony.
Dr. P. Srividya, Joint Director, Examination Cell, introduced the guests, while Dr. R. Lingaswamy, Joint Director, Examination Cell, proposed the vote of thanks.
The Graduation Day concluded on a celebratory note, recognising academic achievement, institutional legacy and the accomplishments of the graduating students and distinguished alumnus.
