Currency Difficulties In Iran: Price Of A Chicken Egg Is 2 Lakh Riyal

Tehran/Internet/Hyderabad, April 26 (Maxim News): The situation in Iran has become worse. The economic situation is deteriorating, but the war against America and Israel is not stopping. Currently, Iran is in an economic crisis. The common people are suffering greatly due to the increased expenses and reduced income due to the war. The prices of essential commodities in Iran are skyrocketing. Compared to the past, the prices of food items have increased by 112%. The prices of cooking oils have increased by more than 200%. Not only food, but even the funeral expenses of a person have increased by 40%.

Since the war began, an estimated 1 million people have officially lost their jobs in Iran. But the real number is estimated to be between 2 million and 3 million. About 15 million people currently have no source of income. They are unable to buy even 10 kilograms of rice with government assistance or food vouchers. The value of the Iranian currency, the rial, has plummeted. The value of one American dollar is currently around 1.6 million rials. As a result, people’s savings are disappearing before their eyes. Businesses are suffering as people do not have money. Restaurants and small shops are closing.

In such difficult times, the government has not reduced taxes and is imposing heavy fines if the loan repayment is delayed. In particular, the price of a single chicken egg has reached 2 lakh riyals. Previously, the price of a chicken egg was Rs. 50-60 thousand riyals. But due to the war, these prices have increased drastically. For the first time in Iran’s history, the Tehran Stock Exchange was closed for 8 consecutive weeks. The economy collapsed irreparably as the petrochemical and steel industries, which are the backbone of the country, were damaged.
