Hyderabad, May 3: Karimnagar jewellery shop robbery created panic after an armed gang opened fire and looted valuables in broad daylight. The incident took place at a jewellery store on Jagtial Road in Karimnagar on Sunday morning.
According to police, five armed assailants arrived on two motorcycles and stormed the PMJ jewellery shop. At that time, staff were taking out ornaments from lockers for display. The gang quickly entered the premises and began the robbery.
When security personnel tried to resist, the attackers opened fire. As a result, four security guards sustained bullet injuries. Moreover, officials confirmed that one of them remains in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers fired nearly 30 rounds during the incident. After that, they fled the scene with costly jewellery. The sudden attack caused panic among nearby residents and shopkeepers.
Meanwhile, injured security personnel were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Doctors are closely monitoring the condition of the critically injured guard. Police have secured the area and increased surveillance in surrounding locations.
Soon after the incident, police teams reached the spot and launched an investigation. Clues teams collected evidence from the scene. In addition, officers examined CCTV footage from the shop and nearby areas to identify the suspects.
