Hyderabad, July 1: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday directed officials to focus seriously on revenue mobilisation and ensure that departments achieve revenue targets in line with the State Budget. He instructed officials to strengthen monitoring systems and prevent revenue leakages across key departments.
The Chief Minister issued the directions during a high level review meeting on revenue mobilisation held at the MCRHRD in Hyderabad.
Revanth Reddy asked officials to pay special attention to revenue generation in departments such as HMDA, TGIIC, Commercial Taxes and Excise. He stressed the need to identify and plug revenue leakages while ensuring continuous monitoring through a dedicated chasing cell.
He also instructed officials to train the chasing cell and maintain regular follow up to improve revenue collection.
The Chief Minister said departments must improve their efficiency to meet financial targets. He directed officials to adopt Artificial Intelligence technology wherever possible and link beneficiary databases with the Direct Benefit Transfer system to improve transparency and efficiency.
Revanth Reddy further instructed officials to prepare realistic budgets based on actual requirements instead of speculative estimates. He said budget planning should prioritise the completion of pending projects and ongoing works.
The Chief Minister also emphasised that land acquisition should receive top priority to avoid delays in infrastructure and development projects.
He assured officials that the State Government would extend all necessary support to departments in achieving revenue goals. At the same time, he made it clear that negligence in increasing revenue and mobilising funds would not be tolerated.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Advisor Ramakrishna Rao and senior government officials attended the review meeting.
