Hyderabad, May 4: Telangana govt to bear extra cost for Hajj pilgrims following a rise in travel expenses due to global conditions. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy took the decision to reduce the financial burden on pilgrims from the state.

The increase in expenses follows rising fuel prices linked to tensions involving Iran and the United States. As a result, airfare and related charges for Hajj travel have gone up.
Many pilgrims, especially from economically weaker sections, save money for years to undertake the pilgrimage. For them, the sudden rise in costs created serious financial pressure. Therefore, the state government stepped in to provide relief.
Officials said the government aims to ensure that no pilgrim cancels the journey due to financial constraints. The decision reflects the state’s commitment to supporting religious travel without discrimination.
Moreover, authorities are working on the implementation process to extend financial support. Details regarding the exact subsidy or assistance mechanism are expected soon.
The move has drawn positive response from community members. Many believe it will help deserving pilgrims complete their long awaited journey.
Meanwhile, officials confirmed that arrangements for the Hajj journey are progressing as scheduled. They also assured that all necessary support will be provided to ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience.
