Gadwal/Hyderabad, May 12 (Maxim News): Jogulamba Municipal officials are removing encroachments in Gadwal town of Gadwal district with a bang. The officials, who had marked along the main roads a week ago, took up the removal of encroachments on Tuesday with the help of the police. However, instead of completely removing the encroachments, only the boards and sheds near the footpaths are now drawing criticism.
A week ago, the municipal officials, who had marked along the main roads, issued verbal orders to shop owners and cart traders. They suggested that they voluntarily remove the sheds, carts and other equipment set up on the footpaths from Krishnaveni intersection to Ambedkar intersection and in the Bhimnagar area. However, when no one responded, the municipal officials took action. Amid police security, the removal measures were taken with the help of JCB.
Although the municipal authorities say that they are removing illegal structures that have become a nuisance to pedestrians, the fact that the marked areas have not been completely demolished has now become a topic of discussion. Locals say that the municipal authorities are claiming that they have removed the boards installed in front of the shops and taken action. The townspeople have demanded that the same rules should apply to everyone in the removal of encroachments and that the marked areas be completely removed.(Maxim News)
