Hyderabad, May 12 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has taken a key decision on Rabi paddy procurement. It has increased the handling charges for intermediate warehouses to Rs. 17 per quintal and the paddy unloading porter charges from Rs. 6.50 to Rs. 8.50. It has directed the officials to take steps for the speedy movement of paddy from the procurement centers to the warehouses and mills. The government has directed that paddy procurement across the state should continue without interruption. These orders will come into effect immediately for the Rabi 2025-26 season.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a video conference with district collectors today (Tuesday). Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Seethakka, Vakiti Srihari, and CS Ramakrishna Rao attended the meeting. The CM inquired from the district collectors about the problems being faced at the procurement centers in all districts, the conditions in the districts, and the problems at the field level. On this occasion, the Chief Minister issued some instructions to the collectors. He said that negligence in the procurement of grain will not be tolerated. He said that farmers should not face any difficulties at the procurement centers. He advised that farmers should be provided with receipts immediately after loading the grain. Revanth Reddy ordered that tractors and other vehicles should be used if there is a shortage of lorries. (Maxim News)
