Hyderabad, May 13: CETI Foundation will organise the Naseem Arifi Urdu Media Awards 2025 function in Hyderabad on May 16 to honour excellence and integrity in Urdu journalism.
The event will take place at Telangana Media Academy on Chapel Road at 11 am.
The awards recognise outstanding contributions to Urdu media and journalism across Telangana and India.
Awards Named After Veteran Journalist
The awards were instituted in memory of veteran Urdu journalist Naseem Arifi.
Arifi started his journalism career with Siasat Daily during the 1960s.
He later served as editor of Munsif Daily and played a major role in reviving the publication.
He subsequently founded The Etemaad Daily and earned recognition for his editorial leadership and commitment to responsible journalism.
Five Journalists To Receive Awards
The Lifetime Achievement Award for 2025 will be presented to Masdoom Muradabadi.
Under the Telangana category, awards will go to Fazal Baig and Mohammad Aleemuddin.
The All India category awardees are Dr Yameen Ansari and Rahinee Singh.
Organisers said an eminent jury comprising media representatives and civil society members selected the awardees.
Each award carries a cash prize of Rs 15,000 along with a citation and memento.
Senior Leaders To Attend Event
Ausaf Sayeed will attend the programme as chief guest.
Former Director General of Police A K Khan will participate as guest of honour.
Sreenivas Reddy will preside over the function.
Organisers said the awards aim to encourage ethical journalism and strengthen public responsibility in Urdu media.
The foundation added that the initiative also seeks to inspire young journalists to uphold professional values and credible reporting standards.
