Hyderabad Braces For 40 Degree Heat As Temperatures Rise Across Telangana

Hyderabad, May 13: Temperatures continued to rise sharply across Telangana as thunderstorm activity weakened in several districts, pushing daytime heat levels higher over the last 24 hours.

According to India Meteorological Department, Hyderabad recorded a maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

Weather officials said the mercury is likely to touch 40 degrees Celsius in Hyderabad in the coming days as dry weather conditions intensify across the State.

Several northern Telangana districts already recorded temperatures above 42 degrees Celsius.

Adilabad reported the highest maximum temperature in the State at 43.3 degrees Celsius.

Nizamabad followed closely with 42.7 degrees Celsius.

The weather department said most districts witnessed dry conditions with almost no rainfall during the last 24 hours.

Officials noted that weakening thunderstorm activity contributed to the sudden increase in temperatures across Telangana.

Other major temperature readings included Nalgonda at 40.5 degrees Celsius, while Mahabubnagar and Hakimpet recorded 40.4 degrees Celsius.

Ramagundam registered 40.1 degrees Celsius, while Medak recorded 40 degrees Celsius.

The IMD forecast said temperatures across several Telangana districts are expected to remain between 41 and 44 degrees Celsius over the next few days.

Officials advised people to avoid direct exposure to the sun during afternoon hours.

Doctors also urged residents to stay hydrated and reduce outdoor activities during peak daytime heat.

Health Experts Advise Caution

Medical experts warned that prolonged exposure to rising temperatures could lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke.

Children, elderly persons and people with existing health conditions were advised to remain cautious during the heatwave conditions.

Authorities are also monitoring weather conditions closely as summer intensifies across Telangana.

The steady rise in temperatures has already increased demand for drinking water and electricity in several urban and rural areas.

Meanwhile, weather officials said isolated cloud activity may develop later this week, but no significant rainfall is expected immediately.
