Hyderabad, May 13: Bandi Bhagirath failed to appear before police for questioning in connection with a POCSO case registered at Pet Basheerabad Police Station.

Police had earlier issued notices directing Bhagirath to appear before investigators at 2 pm on Wednesday as part of the ongoing probe.
However, officials said he did not attend the interrogation despite the deadline passing.
A Special Investigation Team is currently probing the case.
Police registered the case under Sections 74 and 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with Section 5(i) read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act.

Investigators recently recorded the victim’s statement for the second time as part of the inquiry.
Officials also added charges related to aggravated sexual assault and premeditated sexual acts during the course of the investigation.
Meanwhile, Bhagirath approached the Telangana High Court seeking anticipatory bail in the case.
The vacation bench of the High Court is expected to hear the petition on Thursday.

The case has drawn political attention as Bhagirath is the son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Police officials have not yet disclosed the next course of action regarding his absence from questioning.
