Hyderabad, May 14 (Maxim News): The Telangana government on Thursday strongly criticised the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak, stating that repeated examination irregularities had “demonetised” the future of lakhs of students across the country.
The government also alleged that similarities between the BJP and BRS in failures, betrayal and organised corruption had become increasingly visible in recent years.
The statement came after the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination triggered widespread concern among students and parents nationwide.
According to official figures, nearly 22.79 lakh students appeared for the examination conducted on May 3 across 551 cities in India and 14 international centres.
However, allegations of paper leaks and large scale irregularities forced the National Testing Agency to cancel the examination.
Telangana Demands Transparent Investigation
The Telangana government said the credibility of national level examinations must remain protected at all costs.
It demanded strict punishment against every individual or network involved in paper leaks, corruption and malpractice, irrespective of political influence or position.
The government stated that lakhs of innocent students were now suffering because of systemic failures in the examination process.
It urged the Union Government and the NTA to conduct a transparent, credible and time bound investigation into the controversy.
The statement further said students prepare for NEET under severe emotional pressure, financial burden and personal sacrifice.
According to the government, competitive examinations should provide opportunity and merit based advancement instead of anxiety and uncertainty.
Support For Students And Parents
The Telangana government assured full support to students and parents affected by the crisis.
It also demanded stronger safeguards, technological protection systems and institutional accountability to prevent similar incidents in future.
The NEET UG 2026 controversy has triggered nationwide outrage after investigators uncovered an alleged interstate network involved in leaking examination papers through digital platforms and intermediaries.
The issue has also intensified political debate across several States, with opposition parties demanding accountability from the Centre over repeated examination failures. (Maxim News)
