Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi Warns Pakistan On Terrorism

Hyderabad, May 16: Upendra Dwivedi warned Pakistan against supporting terrorism and said countries backing terror groups would face consequences.

Speaking at an event at the Manekshaw Centre in Delhi, the Army Chief said India remains firmly opposed to terrorism in all forms.

During the interaction, he was asked about possible future responses if situations similar to Operation Sindhur arise again.

General Dwivedi said any country sheltering terrorists must decide its future path. He stressed that nations seeking respect in history should not support terrorism.

The Army Chief’s remarks came while referring to Operation Sindhur launched on May 7 last year. During the operation, Indian forces targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Following the strikes, Pakistan reportedly launched attacks which were countered by Indian forces. The conflict continued for nearly 88 hours before both sides agreed to a ceasefire.

Officials said the operation was part of India’s broader strategy against cross border terrorism. The Army Chief reiterated that national security remains a top priority.
