Hyderabad, May 16: A fire at a grain purchasing centre in Suryapet district destroyed nearly 5,000 gunny bags late Friday night.
The incident occurred at the Bollampalli grain purchasing centre in Arvapalli mandal. Officials said the fire reportedly broke out accidentally.
Due to the blaze, thousands of gunny bags stored at the centre were reduced to ashes. Local authorities and staff rushed to the spot after receiving information.
Officials are yet to confirm the exact cause of the fire. Assessment of the total damage is also underway.
No casualties were reported in the incident. Further details are awaited as officials continue the inquiry.
