Heatwave Continues In Telangana, Red Alert Issued For Several Districts

Hyderabad, May 21: Telangana continues to reel under intense heatwave conditions as soaring temperatures turn several districts into virtual furnaces. With the impact of summer intensifying sharply, people are facing extreme discomfort from early morning hours itself.

Weather experts warned that temperatures are likely to rise further on Wednesday, with severe heatwave conditions expected across many districts. Popular weather analyst Balaji said the Sun’s intensity has increased significantly from as early as 6 am, leaving residents struggling to cope with the harsh weather.

According to forecasts, temperatures in some districts may touch a scorching 47 degrees Celsius. Authorities cautioned people against venturing outdoors between 11 am and 4 pm due to the high risk of heatstroke and dehydration.

The districts placed under Red Alert include Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Rajanna Sircilla, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Hanamkonda, Mulugu, Warangal, Jangaon, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Khammam.

Hyderabad May Cross 43 Degrees Amid Heatwave

Meteorologists said daytime temperatures in these districts are likely to range between 44 and 47 degrees Celsius. Officials advised residents to stay indoors as much as possible, drink plenty of water and avoid direct exposure to sunlight during peak afternoon hours.

In Hyderabad, temperatures are also expected to cross 43 degrees Celsius, adding to the discomfort in the city. Warmer nights are further worsening the situation as residents are getting little relief even after sunset.

Meanwhile, some districts may witness isolated thunderstorms and light rainfall. Weather experts predicted rain accompanied by thunder in Vikarabad, Ranga Reddy, Sangareddy, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba Gadwal and Mahabubnagar districts.

Officials urged people, especially children, elderly persons and those with health conditions, to take extra precautions until weather conditions improve.
