Congress Will Oppose Illegal Removal Of Votes: TPCC Chief

Hyderabad, May 23: TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Congress party would strongly oppose any illegal removal of votes during the Special Intensive Revision process of electoral rolls.

Speaking to media persons on Friday, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the party would not allow any manipulation of voter lists in the name of voter verification or revision exercises.

He alleged that large scale changes in voter lists had taken place in other states and raised concerns over similar attempts during the Special Intensive Revision process.

TPCC Raises Concerns Over Voter List Revision

Mahesh Kumar Goud claimed that nearly 31 lakh votes were added and 93 lakh votes were removed in West Bengal during electoral roll revisions.

He further alleged that the Trinamool Congress later lost by a margin of around 30 lakh votes in the state.

The TPCC chief also spoke about paddy procurement delays in Telangana. He said procurement was affected due to a sharp increase in grain arrivals across the state.

Responding to questions about possible changes in Telangana Congress leadership, Mahesh Kumar Goud said the All India Congress Committee and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would assess his performance.

He stated that the final decision regarding any PCC leadership changes rests with the AICC leadership.

Mahesh Kumar Goud also recalled remarks made by senior Congress leader K. C. Venugopal, who reportedly described Telangana Congress as one of the best performing PCC units in the country.
