Hyderabad, May 24: BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind on Saturday made sensational remarks stating that no political leader can refuse an offer made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking during an interview to media, the Nizamabad MP claimed that Prime Minister Modi had given an opportunity to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Arvind said Revanth Reddy might regret not accepting such an offer in the future.
He also referred to comments made by BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari and hinted that an offer similar to the political arrangement involving Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde may have been discussed with Revanth Reddy.
Dharmapuri Arvind admitted that the BJP failed to come to power in Telangana due to shortcomings within the party itself.
He acknowledged that the people of Telangana did not support the BJP enough to form the government in the state.
Although the BJP continues to expand politically across the country, Arvind observed that the party still appears distant from power in Telangana.
He attributed the situation mainly to local leadership problems and the absence of strong group leaders within the state unit.
Arvind further said internal differences of opinion exist within the BJP but clarified that he had not lodged complaints against any party leader.
Reacting to allegations linking his name to the POCSO case involving Bandi Bhagirath, Arvind dismissed the claims as baseless.
He clarified that there was no truth in the speculation and stated that he had not spoken to Union Minister Bandi Sanjay after the case surfaced.
The BJP MP revealed that he was among the first leaders to recommend a party ticket for Bandi Sanjay in 2019.
However, he said the BJP high command believed that Bandi Sanjay could not immediately become state president since he had only recently joined the party at that time.
Arvind also launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Telangana.
He alleged that nearly half the ministers in the current cabinet lack core Congress ideology and claimed that several ministers were unhappy working under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
The BJP leader further remarked that there is no significant Left ideology influence remaining in Telangana politics.
