Supreme Court Angry On Authorities Over NEET UG Paper Leak

New Delhi, May 25: The Supreme Court once again expressed serious concern over the NEET UG paper leak controversy and questioned the failure of authorities to prevent repeated irregularities in national level examinations.

Hearing petitions related to alleged paper leaks and irregularities in the NEET UG examination, the apex court strongly criticised the National Testing Agency and concerned authorities over lapses in the examination system.

The court observed that despite several controversies in the past, authorities had failed to learn lessons and strengthen the examination process.

The bench said lakhs of students work hard day and night to prepare for highly competitive examinations, but paper leaks and irregularities such as grace marks were damaging their trust in the system.

Supreme Court Demands Fair Investigation

The Supreme Court stressed that a fair and impartial investigation into the NEET UG paper leak allegations was necessary.

The bench stated that when the sanctity of an examination is compromised, strict action must be taken against those responsible.

The court also remarked that once irregularities come to light, authorities should not attempt to suppress the issue or hide the facts.

During the hearing, the court expressed dissatisfaction over the functioning of the examination system and said officials had failed to address loopholes effectively.

The Supreme Court directed the National Testing Agency and the Central government to submit a comprehensive report detailing the irregularities and the actions taken so far.

The bench also sought clarity on future corrective measures to ensure transparency and credibility in national entrance examinations.

Meanwhile, protests by students and parents have intensified in several parts of the country demanding accountability and reforms in the examination process.

The court is also expected to examine whether a re examination should be conducted in centres where irregularities were allegedly reported.

Legal experts believe the matter could lead to major reforms in the national examination system, including stronger security protocols and stricter monitoring mechanisms.
