Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad, has forecast that maximum temperatures in Hyderabad could touch 43 degrees Celsius on Monday amid continuing heatwave conditions across Telangana.
The latest forecast marks a significant rise from the usual temperature range of 40 to 41 degrees Celsius recorded in the city during most of the ongoing summer season.
According to the IMD, intense heatwave conditions are likely to continue across Hyderabad and several parts of Telangana for the next few days.
The city has been witnessing persistent high temperatures for more than a week, with hot and dry winds making daytime conditions extremely uncomfortable for residents.
IMD Warns Of Intense Heatwave Conditions
Meteorological officials stated that core areas of Hyderabad are expected to experience severe heat during afternoon hours.
The prolonged heatwave has already triggered health concerns, especially among children, elderly people and outdoor workers.
Officials said humidity levels remain low, while dry winds are further increasing heat intensity across the city.
Several districts in Telangana have already recorded temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius in recent days.
Public Advised To Avoid Outdoor Activity
The Director of Public Health, Telangana, advised people to avoid stepping outdoors between 12 noon and 4 pm unless absolutely necessary.
Health officials also urged residents to stay hydrated and consume sufficient fluids to prevent dehydration and heatstroke.
People have been advised to wear light cotton clothing and avoid direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours.
Doctors warned that prolonged exposure to extreme heat could lead to dizziness, exhaustion and heat related illnesses.
Meanwhile, authorities are monitoring the heatwave situation closely and have appealed to the public to follow safety precautions until weather conditions improve.
