Hyderabad, May 26 (Maxim News) : A high level review meeting on drinking water supply, tanker services and monsoon preparedness was held at the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board headquarters in Khairatabad on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar along with Minister Azharuddin and senior officials of the Water Board.
Metro Water Works Managing Director Ashok Reddy, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board Director Sudarshan, Joint Managing Director Mayank Mittal and officials from various departments participated in the review meeting.
During the meeting, officials gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on drinking water supply, river protection, water management and infrastructure development works being carried out in the city.
The ministers reviewed tanker services, monsoon preparedness measures, operation of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and ongoing infrastructure projects related to water supply and sewerage systems.
Officials also briefed the ministers on groundwater conditions and future challenges related to water availability in Hyderabad.

The ministers directed officials to take steps for water conservation and improve groundwater levels across the city.
They stressed that every department should work responsibly to ensure Hyderabad does not face water shortage in the coming months.
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the Telangana government is promoting electric vehicles across the State to protect the environment and reduce pollution.
He stated that the Transport Department is working with the goal of transforming Telangana into a greener State.
The ministers also instructed officials to strengthen water saving measures and ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply to residents across Hyderabad.(Maxim News)
