Shabbir Ali Highlights Welfare Driven Development In Telangana

Hyderabad, June 2: Telangana Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Tuesday said the State government is committed to a welfare driven development model aimed at fulfilling public aspirations and honouring the sacrifices of Telangana martyrs.

Addressing the official Telangana Formation Day celebrations in Adilabad as the chief guest, Shabbir Ali said the government’s focus is on ensuring welfare schemes, development projects, and basic services reach people at the grassroots level in a transparent manner.

Paying tributes to Telangana martyrs, Shabbir Ali said the State was achieved after years of struggle and sacrifice. He stated that building a prosperous and inclusive Telangana would be the true tribute to those who fought for statehood.

He highlighted the 99 day Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika programme, launched from March 6 to June 12, which focuses on sanitation, health, welfare, education, women’s empowerment, environmental protection, and farmers’ welfare.

On education, he said the government is strengthening public schools by improving infrastructure and providing textbooks, uniforms, student kits, and breakfast facilities. In Adilabad district, works worth more than Rs 4 crore were completed or inaugurated during Education Week, while 74 pre primary schools are scheduled to begin functioning from June 12.

Shabbir Ali said women’s welfare remains a priority through initiatives such as the Mahalakshmi scheme, subsidised LPG cylinders, free RTC bus travel, self help group loans, and Indira Mahila Shakti programmes. In Adilabad, over one lakh women received LPG subsidy benefits, while loans were provided to women’s groups to promote economic empowerment.

He also highlighted improvements in healthcare services. At RIMS Adilabad, bed capacity was expanded to 790, a critical care unit was established, and new postgraduate medical seats were sanctioned. Aarogyasri services, specialist camps, and student health programmes were also strengthened.

Adilabad Records Progress in Housing, Employment and Welfare

The Advisor said two mega job fairs conducted in May helped more than 1,000 unemployed youth secure employment opportunities.

He noted that special attention is being given to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and minorities through scholarships, hostels, and educational support programmes. Minority welfare projects, including residential school infrastructure, are also progressing in the district.

On housing, Shabbir Ali said 16,759 Indiramma houses have been sanctioned in Adilabad district. Construction work is underway for most of the approved houses, while funds have already been released to beneficiaries.

For farmers, the government has arranged fertilisers, seeds, and farm machinery support ahead of the monsoon season. He said irrigation projects such as the Lower Penganga Project are expected to benefit thousands of acres of agricultural land.

The Advisor also highlighted achievements in rural employment, water conservation, tourism development, drinking water supply, and public safety initiatives implemented by district authorities.

Concluding his address, Shabbir Ali thanked public representatives, officials, media personnel, and residents of Adilabad for their contribution to the district’s development and extended Telangana Formation Day greetings.
