Hyderabad, June 2 (Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud on Tuesday made pointed remarks against Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, saying that while he admires him as an actor, he disagrees with him politically.
Speaking to the media, Mahesh Kumar Goud described Pawan Kalyan as a leader with roots in Andhra Pradesh and questioned his recent political activities in Telangana.
Mahesh Kumar Goud Targets Pawan Kalyan
The TPCC chief said Pawan Kalyan currently serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and should focus on issues concerning that state. He remarked that everyone appreciates Pawan Kalyan’s contribution to the film industry, but political differences remain.
“Pawan Kalyan is the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. We all admire him as an actor. However, we oppose him politically,” Mahesh Kumar Goud said.
He further alleged that external forces were influencing Pawan Kalyan’s political decisions. Without naming anyone, the Congress leader claimed that someone was operating behind the scenes and guiding the Jana Sena chief’s actions.
The remarks come amid a political controversy surrounding Pawan Kalyan’s proposed Telangana Nava Nirman Sabha in Hyderabad. Telangana Police denied permission for the public meeting, citing administrative and security concerns. Subsequently, the Telangana High Court declined to entertain an urgent plea filed by Jana Sena seeking permission for the event.
Following the developments, Pawan Kalyan announced that he would address the media from his residence in Jubilee Hills instead of holding the public meeting.
The issue has triggered a political war of words between Congress and Jana Sena leaders, with several Telangana Congress leaders criticizing Pawan Kalyan’s political outreach in the state. (Maxim News)
