Hyderabad, June 3: A fire broke out in Boudhanagar, Secunderabad, on Wednesday morning after a suspected short circuit involving internet and television cable wires wrapped around an electricity pole.
The incident occurred in L.N. Nagar, where a cluster of tangled cables reportedly caught fire, causing panic among local residents.
According to residents, the flames spread rapidly after the cables ignited. The fire completely destroyed the cable bundle and soon engulfed a nearby parked auto rickshaw.
The auto rickshaw sustained extensive damage in the blaze before authorities brought the situation under control.
Electricity department personnel responded quickly and disconnected the power supply to the area. Their timely action prevented the fire from spreading further and averted a major mishap.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
Residents raised concerns over the growing number of internet and television cables hanging from electricity poles. They urged authorities to address the issue and remove unsafe cable clusters to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Officials are expected to assess the damage and examine the cause of the short circuit.
