Hyderabad, June 3: A 26-year-old accountant working at Medicover Hospital allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge in Hyderabad. Police suspect that harassment by loan recovery agents may have driven her to take the extreme step.
The deceased was identified as Roja Ramani (26), who was employed as an accountant at Medikavar Hospital. According to preliminary information, she jumped from the iconic Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge and died on the spot.
Investigators suspect that Roja Ramani had been facing pressure from loan recovery agents. Initial inquiries indicate that she may have been subjected to repeated harassment over loan repayments.
Police are examining her financial transactions, mobile phone records, and recent communications to determine the exact circumstances that led to the incident.
Family members and close associates are also being questioned as part of the investigation.
The body was shifted for postmortem examination, and a case has been registered. Officials said all possible angles, including alleged harassment by loan recovery agents, are being investigated.
Police have not yet disclosed details regarding the loan amount or the financial institution involved. Further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing inquiry.
