During the operation, police seized 158 kg of dry ganja, a Chevrolet Sail car bearing registration number KL64A6092, and three mobile phones. The total value of the seized property is estimated at Rs 79 lakh.
According to investigators, Shiva Krishna joined the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in 2009. Later, he served on deputation with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). Police said he allegedly entered the drug trade due to financial difficulties and started transporting ganja on a commission basis.
Investigators alleged that the accused procured large quantities of ganja from cultivators in Odisha and supplied the contraband to interstate drug peddlers operating in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. Officials said he played a key role in transporting and distributing narcotics across multiple states.
Police further alleged that Shiva Krishna misused his official CISF identity card while transporting drugs. Whenever police teams stopped his vehicle for inspection, he allegedly displayed his CISF credentials to avoid checks and escape detection.
The accused was previously arrested in 2025 by Dammapet Police Station in Bhadradri Kothagudem district under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Following that arrest, authorities lodged him in Khammam Jail and suspended him from service on September 12, 2025.
However, police said the accused resumed drug trafficking activities after securing release from jail. Investigators alleged that he continued supplying ganja to interstate peddlers despite facing criminal proceedings and departmental action.
Officials believe the seizure has exposed a larger interstate drug network. Therefore, police have intensified efforts to identify suppliers, transporters, and peddlers linked to the operation. Further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force reiterated its commitment to cracking down on narcotics trafficking. Officials urged young people to stay away from drugs and appealed to citizens to report suspicious drug-related activities. Police said public cooperation remains crucial in making Hyderabad a drug-free city.
