Hyderabad, June 4: BRS deputy floor leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Thursday accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil promises made to unemployed youth and claimed it was taking credit for recruitments initiated during the previous BRS administration.
Addressing a meeting titled “Nirudyogula Nayavanchana” in Chaitanyapuri, Srinivas Yadav announced that the BRS would organise a large public meeting of unemployed youth in Saroornagar in August.
Srinivas Yadav said the previous government led by K. Chandrashekar Rao filled 1.6 lakh government jobs and initiated recruitment for another 40,000 posts. He alleged that the present government only distributed appointment letters after coming to power and claimed credit for the recruitments.
He stated that the BRS government had focused on securing reservations for local youth in government jobs and obtained Presidential assent for the policy. According to him, this process resulted in delays in recruitment during the previous administration.
The former minister criticized the Congress government for not implementing key election promises. He cited the proposed monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 4,000, distribution of scooters to girl students, and interest free loans of Rs 10 lakh for unemployed youth.
Srinivas Yadav alleged that unemployed youth had been neglected after the elections. He also criticized the government over demolition drives carried out under HYDRAA and the Musi Riverfront project, claiming that poor families were affected.
The BRS leader further alleged that farmers were facing difficulties and that cases were being registered against those questioning the government’s policies.
Appealing to unemployed youth, Srinivas Yadav urged them not to lose hope or take extreme steps. He assured them that the BRS would continue its efforts to raise issues related to employment and youth welfare.
