The Commissioner also referred to a citywide vehicle checking drive conducted a day earlier. During the inspections, police found several motorists driving while using earphones connected to mobile phones.
He warned that strict action would be taken against such violations as they pose a risk to road safety. Cases will be registered against offenders under the relevant provisions of traffic laws.
The Hyderabad Police will soon launch a special campaign to curb the use of earphones while driving and improve compliance with traffic regulations, he added.
