Telangana Government Extends School Holidays Till June 14

Hyderabad, June 6: The Telangana government has extended summer holidays for all schools across the state until June 14, postponing the reopening of educational institutions to June 15, 2026.

Schools were earlier scheduled to reopen on June 12 following the completion of the summer vacation period.

The decision was taken considering the prevailing weather conditions and the well being of students ahead of the new academic year.

Earlier, the Telangana School Education Department had declared summer holidays from April 24 to June 11 for government, aided and private schools across the state. Classes were expected to resume on June 12.

However, the government has now granted an additional three days of vacation, extending the break until June 14.

Officials said the move was aimed at providing relief to students before the commencement of the academic session. School managements have been directed to inform parents and students about the revised reopening schedule.

The extension has been welcomed by many parents and students, as it offers additional time for children to prepare for the new school year.

Authorities have advised parents to follow updates issued by the Telangana School Education Department for any further announcements regarding the academic calendar.

With the latest revision, schools across Telangana will reopen on June 15, marking the beginning of the 2026–27 academic year.
