Operation Kavach Hyderabad | Hyderabad, June 6 (Maxim News) : In a major citywide security operation aimed at strengthening internal security and preventing the movement of anti-social elements, Hyderabad City Police conducted large-scale inspections under “Operation Kavach” during the late hours of Friday night.
The intensive drive witnessed the deployment of nearly 5,000 police personnel across the city, during which 562 hotels and lodges were thoroughly inspected under strict supervision to ensure compliance with security and identification norms.
Police teams verified hotel registers, scrutinised guest identity documents, and cross-checked accommodation records to ensure that no suspicious or illegal elements were using lodging facilities within the city. The inspection drive was carried out between 11 pm and 1 am as part of a coordinated law-and-order enforcement exercise.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, personally led field-level inspections as part of Operation Kavach. He visited several lodges in Ameerpet and near Nampally Railway Station, where he reviewed room allotment procedures and guest registration systems.
During his visit, the Commissioner interacted directly with lodge occupants and collected details regarding their place of origin, purpose of visit, and duration of stay in Hyderabad. He also verified whether establishments were strictly following mandatory identification protocols.
Citywide Zone-Wise Security Deployment
As part of the coordinated enforcement, inspections were carried out across seven police zones under the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate. The drive covered 119 establishments in Khairatabad, 92 in Shamshabad, 86 each in Jubilee Hills and Golconda, 82 in Secunderabad, 53 in Rajendranagar, and 44 in Charminar zone.
Police teams from Law and Order units worked in close coordination with local stations to ensure thorough verification of hotel records, guest entries, and security compliance across all inspected locations.
Operation Kavach Hyderabad | Strict Compliance Instructions Issued to Hotel Managements
Commissioner Sajjanar issued strict instructions to all hotel and lodge operators to ensure full compliance with guest verification norms. He directed that original identity documents of every visitor must be verified and properly recorded without exception.
Sajjanar warned that rooms must not be allotted to minors under any circumstances and that age verification should be strictly enforced. He further instructed that all guest details, including contact numbers, check-in and check-out timings, must be accurately maintained in registers without any false or incomplete entries.
He also cautioned that repeat violations of rules would attract stringent legal action under relevant provisions of law.
Operation Kavach Hyderabad | Digital Monitoring and CCTV Surveillance Strengthened
As part of modernising surveillance systems, Hyderabad Police announced that a digital visitor management system will be introduced soon to strengthen monitoring of hotel and lodge registrations across the city.
Commissioner Sajjanar also directed managements to install functional CCTV cameras at key points including entrances, exits, reception areas, and surrounding premises to ensure continuous monitoring and improved security intelligence.
Public Advisory and Law-and-Order Warning
Hyderabad Police urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity or movement of anti-social elements through Dial 100 or local police stations. Authorities reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against hotel operators who fail to follow mandatory verification procedures.
Senior police officials including Additional CP Crimes Srinivasulu, Additional CP Law and Order Tafseer Iqbal, Joint CP Traffic Joel Davis, and multiple DCPs and ACPs participated in the large-scale operation.
Hyderabad City Police stated that Operation Kavach will continue as a sustained enforcement initiative to safeguard internal security, prevent criminal movement through accommodation networks, and strengthen urban safety across the city. (Maxim News)
