Hyderabad, June 6 (Maxim News): The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a Waqf Board Inspector in Nalgonda district on Saturday. The officer allegedly accepted a ₹10,000 bribe from a complainant.
According to the ACB press note, officials trapped Shaik Mahmood while he was taking the bribe. The complaint relates to an official report connected to Waqf property records in Peddavoora.
The inspector allegedly demanded the money to submit a favorable report to the Chief Executive Officer of the Waqf Board in Hyderabad. The complaint dates back to February 25, 2025.

Meanwhile, ACB teams recovered the bribe amount from the officer on the spot. Officials said the accused misused his position for personal gain.
Therefore, the ACB immediately arrested him and started legal proceedings. The case is now under investigation.
The accused will be produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases in Nampally. However, the identity of the complainant remains confidential for safety reasons.
In addition, the ACB has urged the public to report corruption cases through the toll-free number 1064. Citizens can also use WhatsApp and social media platforms to report bribery cases.
The bureau reiterated that strict action will continue against corrupt public servants across Telangana. (Maxim News)
