Gandipet Land Grabbing Case: Former MLA Remanded For 14 Days

Hyderabad, June 6: A court in Upparapalli on Friday remanded former YSRCP MLA Bolla Brahmanaidu to 14 days of judicial custody in the Gandipet land grabbing case. Following the court’s order, police shifted him to Chanchalguda Central Jail.

Cyberabad police arrested Brahmanaidu in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, in connection with the Gandipet land grabbing case. Officers then brought him to Hyderabad by road and took him to the Narsingi Police Station for questioning.

Gandipet Land Grabbing Case Investigation Intensifies

Investigators recorded his statement and later produced him before the court. After hearing the arguments, the judge ordered a 14 day judicial remand.

A large number of YSRCP workers and supporters gathered near the Narsingi Police Station after learning of his arrival. However, police restricted entry to the station due to security concerns. The situation remained tense for some time.

Authorities later shifted Brahmanaidu to the Upparapalli court under tight security. After the remand order, police transferred him to Chanchalguda jail.

Police have already arrested five people in the Gandipet land grabbing case. With Brahmanaidu’s arrest, the total number of accused arrested has risen to six.

Cyberabad police said the investigation is continuing. Officials are examining allegations related to land grabbing, document transactions, and the involvement of other individuals. Police indicated that further action may follow based on the findings of the ongoing probe.
