AIMIM, Congress Clash Over SIR Form Distribution Triggers Police Cases In Hyderabad

Hyderabad, July 5: Clashes between Congress and AIMIM workers over the distribution of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) forms have led to multiple police cases in Hyderabad. The incidents, reported under Balapur and Hussaini Alam police limits, stem from disputes during the ongoing electoral roll revision exercise.
According to police, on June 30, AIMIM workers allegedly entered a Congress office at Wadi e Saleheen in Shaheen Nagar under Balapur police limits and threatened Congress worker Syed Niyaz.
As per the FIR, local AIMIM leader Mohd. Abdulla Sadiq, along with other party workers, allegedly threatened to burn down the Congress office if it was not removed. The complaint also alleged that Niyaz was threatened with a knife, abused, and warned against entering the locality.
In another incident on July 1, Congress Booth Level Agent in charge of the 64th Division, Fazil Qadri, alleged that he and other Congress workers were threatened while conducting a door to door campaign related to the SIR exercise.
The FIR states that Thaleb, along with other AIMIM workers, allegedly abused and threatened the Congress workers. Police have booked Mohd. Abdulla Sadiq and Thaleb on charges of criminal intimidation. The Balapur
In a separate incident under Hussaini Alam police station limits, police registered a trespass case against Congress leader Amaan Ullah Shareef based on a complaint filed by student Faisal Baig.
According to the FIR, Shareef and two others allegedly entered the complainant’s residence, where Booth Level Officer Amjad Hussain and others were present. The complaint alleged that Shareef recorded the incident on video and used abusive language.
The Congress condemned the registration of the case against its leader, describing it as a “BLO trap.”
Hyderabad District Congress president Khalid Saifullah alleged that AIMIM was using pressure tactics against those questioning irregularities in the SIR process.
Rejecting the allegations against Congress workers, Saifullah said they had visited the location after being directed by the Booth Level Officer. He further alleged that the BLO of Polling Booth No. 77 was operating from the residence of an AIMIM leader instead of conducting the mandated door to door distribution of SIR forms. He claimed to possess evidence supporting the allegation.
