Nizamabad, July 6: A 35-year-old woman was arrested along with her alleged lover and the deceased’s friend for allegedly murdering her husband in Nyalkal, Nizamabad district. Police said the accused allegedly injected a toilet cleaning liquid into the victim’s veins after sedating him.
The incident occurred on June 30, and the three accused were arrested on Saturday following the investigation.
According to the Nizamabad Rural Police, Sandhya and her husband Prashanth had been married for more than a decade. Police said Prashanth had been working in Dubai for the past two years.
During his absence, Sandhya allegedly developed a relationship with Anil. Investigators said Prashanth returned home on June 28, and the accused allegedly feared the relationship would be exposed.
Police alleged that on June 30, Sandhya first injected Prashanth with a paste made from crushed anaesthetic tablets. About 30 minutes later, Sandhya and Anil allegedly injected a toilet cleaning liquid into his veins, leading to his death.
Police said Sandhya had previously worked as a nurse and was familiar with administering injections. They added that Prashanth was unaware of the alleged extramarital relationship.
The postmortem examination reportedly indicated that the death was homicidal. During questioning, Sandhya and Anil allegedly confessed to the crime. Police also arrested Venkata Sai in connection with the case.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
