Hyderabad: Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha said India must move beyond being merely a consumer of Artificial Intelligence and emerge as a global manufacturer of AI technologies, stressing that countries leading the AI revolution will shape the future world order.
He was speaking at an exclusive interactive session titled “Indian Politics Redefined”, organised by the Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) Hyderabad Chapter at HICC. The event, hosted under the leadership of YFLO Chairperson Khushboo Daga, was attended by over 450 YFLO and FLO members along with their spouses.
“India Must Become an AI Manufacturer”
Highlighting the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence, Chadha said technological leadership would define geopolitical influence in the coming decades.
“While India is an AI consumer, it must become an AI manufacturer as well,” he said.
He explained that advanced AI systems depend on high-end Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), noting that most cutting-edge AI chips are designed by NVIDIA and manufactured by Taiwan-based TSMC, underscoring the need for India to build indigenous capabilities.

pening the session on a lighter note, Chadha remarked that qualifying as a Chartered Accountant was more challenging than winning elections.
“Chartered Accountancy is far more difficult than winning elections. I trained to become a Chartered Accountant, but politics just happened. I did not choose politics; politics chose me,” he said.
He also expressed his fondness for Hyderabad, describing it as one of his favourite cities to visit.
Politics Needs More Young People
Sharing his journey into public life, Chadha said he came from a non-political family and entered politics after participating in the anti-corruption movement in 2010–11.
He urged more young Indians to join mainstream politics, pointing out that nearly 65 percent of India’s population is below the age of 35, while the average age of lawmakers remains much higher.
“Politics needs young blood along with the wisdom of experienced leaders,” he said.
Focus on Issues That Affect Citizens
Speaking about his parliamentary work, Chadha said he uses every opportunity in Parliament to raise issues that directly affect ordinary citizens.
He said he has highlighted concerns relating to consumer rights, airport pricing, GST simplification, gig workers’ welfare, and other public interest issues, adding that many of his interventions have contributed to wider policy discussions.
Social Media Amplifies the Message
On the changing nature of political communication, Chadha said social media has transformed how political messages reach the public.
“Messaging creates the narrative, while social media amplifies it. Earlier, a message took 24 hours to reach people; today it reaches the country in 24 seconds,” he observed.
YFLO Chairperson Khushboo Daga said the organisation remains committed to bringing influential leaders from diverse fields to interact with its members and provide meaningful perspectives on governance, leadership, and India’s future.
