Hyderabad, July 20: The Telangana High Court on Monday directed the State government not to take any further action on 28 acres of disputed land in Bahadurguda village of Shamshabad mandal until further orders.
The interim direction came after four farmers approached the High Court, claiming ownership of 28 acres in Survey Nos. 3 and 4. The petition was taken up through a lunch motion hearing.
Bahadurguda Lands Dispute Reaches High Court
Counsel for the petitioners told the court that the four farmers had been cultivating the 28 acres for nearly 30 years and sought protection from government action.
Appearing for the State, the Advocate General argued that the petitioners’ passbooks did not contain the signatures of the concerned officials. He contended that the farmers were claiming ownership solely because they had cultivated the land for several years and maintained that the land belonged to the government.
After hearing both sides, the High Court accepted the petitioners’ plea for interim protection. The court directed the government not to take any action concerning the disputed 28 acres claimed by the four farmers until further orders.
