Hyderabad, July 24: Student organisations staged protests across Hyderabad on Friday over the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak, disrupting traffic and leading to the closure of several educational institutions as part of a bandh call.
A large number of students and activists participated in rallies organised in solidarity with protesters in Delhi following the police action during the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march.
Student Unions Press for Action Over NEET Issue
Members of SFI, AISF, NSUI, PDSU, AIFDS, AIPSU and AISB took out a rally from Narayanaguda X Roads to the Y Junction, raising slogans and demanding action over the examination controversy.
The protest caused heavy traffic congestion on the busy Narayanaguda stretch for several hours.
As part of the bandh call, several schools, colleges and other educational institutions remained closed across the city.
The protesting organisations demanded a transparent inquiry into the alleged NEET UG paper leak and sought the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, alleging lapses in the conduct of the examination.
They also demanded ₹1 crore in ex gratia for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide in connection with the paper leak controversy.
In addition, the student unions called for the abolition of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the withdrawal of the proposed Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill 2025.
