Five Member Gang Held With 23.1 Kg Ganja Worth Rs. 11.55 Lakh In Khammam

Khammam, July 24: Police arrested a five member gang involved in the alleged sale of ganja on the outskirts of Kallur in Khammam district and seized 23.10 kg of ganja valued at ₹11.55 lakh, Kallur ACP Vasundhara Yadav said.

The accused were arrested during a police operation carried out by the Kallur Police.

Police Seize Ganja Worth ₹11.55 Lakh

The arrested persons were identified as Mohammad Anwar and Mohammad Wazir Khan of Paloncha in Kothagudem, Shaik Mujahid Pasha of Kallur, Devaram Rakesh of Yousufguda, Hyderabad, and Mohammad Adil of Bhoiguda, Secunderabad.

Police said two other suspects, identified as Raju and Karthik from Malkangiri, Odisha, are absconding.

According to the ACP, Anwar allegedly procured ganja from the Odisha-based suppliers at ₹3,000 per kilogram and sold it in Paloncha and Kothagudem. After serving a previous jail term, he allegedly began supplying the contraband in bulk to Rakesh at ₹12,000 per kilogram.

As police surveillance increased, Anwar allegedly involved his brother-in-law, Mujahid Pasha, and his paternal uncle, Wazir Khan, in the operation. Police said the ganja was stored at Mujahid Pasha’s residence in Kallur.

The ACP appreciated Sathupalli Rural CI Muthulingaiah, SI D. Haritha, and the police team for successfully detecting the case and arresting the accused.
