The initiative follows the DGP’s recent visits to various districts, where several police officers raised concerns over delays in the sanction of funds under different budget heads.
Speaking about the initiative, CV Anand said a detailed review conducted after his district visits revealed that the issue was not a lack of budget allocation, but inadequate awareness about the procedures for claiming bills and maintaining proper accounts.
He said many officials were unfamiliar with the process of preparing claims, adhering to timelines, and completing the required accounting formalities.
To address the issue, the DGP Office has started a Training of Trainers programme to educate officers on the correct procedures for submitting bills, complying with prescribed timelines, and ensuring proper verification before processing claims.
CV Anand expressed confidence that the training would significantly improve financial management and the utilisation of budget allocations across police units in the state.
The Telangana Police expects the programme to strengthen administrative efficiency and ensure that funds sanctioned under various budget heads are accessed and utilised without procedural delays. (Maxim News)
