Hyderabad, August 3 (Maxim News): Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on Monday chaired a high level coordination meeting at the Secretariat to review preparations for the State level Independence Day celebrations to be held on August 15 at the historic Rani Mahal Lawns in Golconda Fort.
He directed all departments to ensure meticulous planning, seamless coordination and foolproof arrangements for the prestigious event.
The Chief Secretary said the Independence Day celebrations are among the most important official programmes of the State and must be conducted with dignity, discipline and in the true spirit of the nation’s freedom.
As part of the official programme, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will first pay floral tributes to the martyrs at the Veerula Sainik Smarak at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.
He will then proceed to the Rani Mahal Lawns at Golconda Fort, where he will unfurl the National Flag, inspect the ceremonial parade and address the gathering.
Reviewing the preparations, Sanjay Jaju instructed all departments to complete their assigned responsibilities well ahead of August 15.
He stressed that every aspect of the celebrations, including security, traffic regulation, venue readiness, public convenience and emergency response, should be planned in advance to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.
The Roads and Buildings Department was directed to complete all infrastructure works, including the main stage, seating arrangements, barricading, approach roads and other civil works within the stipulated timeframe.
The Police Department was instructed to make comprehensive security and traffic management arrangements while ensuring the smooth movement of dignitaries, invitees, participants and the public. Officials were also directed to prepare contingency plans for any emergency situation.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was asked to maintain cleanliness in and around the venue and complete landscaping, sanitation and beautification works before the celebrations.
The Health Department was instructed to deploy sufficient medical teams, ambulances and first aid facilities at strategic locations.
The Fire Services Department was directed to position fire tenders and emergency response teams at the venue as a precautionary measure.
The Energy Department was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply with adequate backup arrangements throughout the event. Other line departments were also instructed to complete all assigned works efficiently and extend full cooperation for the successful conduct of the celebrations.
Emphasising the importance of inter departmental coordination, the Chief Secretary said every department must work in close coordination to ensure the State level Independence Day celebrations are organised in a grand, smooth and befitting manner.
The review meeting was attended by Special Chief Secretaries Vikas Raj, Navin Mittal and Vani Prasad, GAD Political Principal Secretary Ahmed Nadeem, Principal Secretary Home Shikha Goel, DGP Law and Order Mahesh Bhagwat, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, Fire Services Director General Vikram Singh Mann, GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan, Special Commissioner Information and Public Relations Mukunda Reddy and other senior officials.
