Hyderabad, August 5 (Maxim News): A Metropolitan Sessions Court has granted two days of police custody of Mahboob Alam Khan (A2), one of the accused in the Hyderabad advocate murder case, allowing Nampally Police to interrogate him as part of the ongoing investigation.
The Metropolitan Sessions Judge allowed the criminal revision petition filed by the police and set aside the earlier order of the XII Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Hyderabad, which had declined police custody.
The order was passed on August 3 in Criminal Revision Petition (CRLRP) No. 108 of 2026.
Hyderabad Advocate Murder | Police Custody From August 6 to 7
The court directed that Mahboob Alam Khan be handed over to the Station House Officer (SHO), Nampally Police Station, for interrogation from August 6 to August 7.
The Superintendent of Central Prison, Chanchalguda, has been instructed to hand over the accused to the investigating officer by 10 am on August 6.
The court also imposed strict safeguards during the interrogation. It directed the police not to subject the accused to any threats, coercion, or third degree methods during custodial questioning.
After the interrogation concludes, the accused must undergo a medical examination and be produced before the XII Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Hyderabad, by 4.30 pm on August 7.
The Sessions Court passed the order after setting aside the magistrate’s order dated June 22, 2026, in Crl.M.P. No. 326 of 2026, arising out of Crime No. 206 of 2026 registered at Nampally Police Station.
Investigators are expected to use the custody period to question the accused regarding the conspiracy, execution of the crime, and other aspects of the Hyderabad advocate murder case. The investigation is continuing.
The court’s order pertains only to custodial interrogation and does not amount to a finding on the guilt or innocence of the accused. (Maxim News)
