Hyderabad, August 10: A newborn baby was found abandoned in a plastic cover at a junction in Naspur mandal centre on Monday.
Locals noticed the baby and alerted the police. The police immediately shifted the newborn to a hospital in Mancherial.
Baby Found Healthy, Police Begin Probe
The baby weighs around three kilograms and is reported to be healthy. Doctors are monitoring the newborn at the hospital.
Meanwhile, officials said the baby will be shifted to a home run by the Women Development and Child Welfare Department.
Based on a complaint from officials, police registered a case. They have launched an investigation to identify those responsible for abandoning the newborn.
