Hyderabad, August 27: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Konda Surekha issue now falls under the AICC’s purview.
He said the party disciplinary committee has sent its report to the All India Congress Committee. Therefore, the final decision rests with the party high command.
The controversy began after Surekha’s daughter Sushmitha made remarks against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Subsequently, the party disciplinary committee issued a notice to the minister.
Surekha later clarified that the party should not hold her responsible for her daughter’s comments. The development has since triggered debate within the Telangana Congress.

Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Congress has no personal anger or political vendetta against anyone. He also said Konda Murali had not contacted him over the issue.
Meanwhile, the TPCC chief said the state leadership would accept whatever decision the AICC takes. He did not indicate what action the high command might consider.
Mahesh also spoke about the Congress party’s focus on Backward Classes. He claimed that no other political party has given the BC community as much importance as Congress.
He also addressed Telangana’s water share. Mahesh said the state would not compromise on its rightful share of water.
According to him, the state government has a responsibility to prevent any injustice to Telangana. He said the government would protect the state’s interests on water issues.
Meanwhile, Mahesh Kumar Goud said he had received an SIR notice. He said he would submit the required details.
The remarks come as the Congress leadership continues to deal with the internal controversy surrounding Konda Surekha. The AICC’s decision is now expected to determine the next course of action.
