Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Sena has questioned the delay in development works at the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple in Jagtial district.
The party asked why the works remain pending despite Rs 35.19 crore in TTD funds. It raised the issue through social media.
The proposed works include a 96 room guest house and a Deeksha Viramana Mandapam. Jana Sena asked why authorities have not invited tenders for the projects.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan visited Kondagattu on January 3. He performed the foundation ceremony for the proposed works.
However, Jana Sena said seven months have passed since the foundation ceremony. It questioned the delay in starting the projects.
Jana Sena targets Ponnam Prabhakar
Jana Sena urged the Congress government to explain the delay immediately. It also said political considerations should not affect facilities for Hindu devotees.
The party criticised Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar over the issue. It asked why Ponnam and local MLA Medipally Satyam had not responded to the delay.
Jana Sena also accused leaders such as Ponnam of making statements that could fuel regional differences. The remarks have added a political angle to the Kondagattu development issue.
The latest criticism comes against the backdrop of an earlier dispute between Ponnam and Jana Sena. The disagreement followed a proposed Pawan Kalyan event in Hyderabad on Telangana Formation Day.
Pawan had questioned whether Telangana belonged to certain individuals when the proposed event faced permission issues. Ponnam later responded with a statement asserting Telangana’s ownership by its people and families.
The exchange led to sharp criticism between Ponnam and Jana Sena supporters. Therefore, the party’s latest remarks over Kondagattu have renewed political attention on the dispute.
Jana Sena has now sought clarity on the project timeline and tender process. It also demanded action to ensure that the planned facilities reach devotees without further delay.
