Hyderabad, August 28: Khammam Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt has announced restrictions around NEET PG 2026 examination centres on August 30.
Section 163 of the BNSS Act, 2023, will remain in force from 7 am to 2.30 pm. The restrictions will apply around examination centres across the Khammam Commissionerate.
Police have barred gatherings of more than five people within 200 metres of every examination centre. Authorities have also prohibited public meetings, rallies, protests and campaign activities in the restricted zone.
The order also bars processions involving microphones and DJ systems near the examination centres. These measures aim to ensure a peaceful environment for candidates appearing for the medical entrance examination.
Internet Centres and Xerox Shops Asked to Close
Police have directed internet centres, xerox shops and stationery stores near the examination centres to remain closed during the examination period.
Commissioner Sunil Dutt said the restrictions form part of precautionary measures to prevent disruptions during NEET PG 2026. He urged political party leaders, representatives of various organisations and members of the public to cooperate with the police.
Meanwhile, police will deploy additional personnel at examination centres. Traffic police will also take measures to prevent congestion and ensure smooth movement around the centres.
Police patrol teams have been deployed in areas surrounding the examination centres. Officers will maintain surveillance and collect advance information to prevent any untoward incidents.
The Commissioner warned that authorities will take legal action against anyone who violates the restrictions. Police have urged candidates and the public to follow the orders during the specified hours.
