Hyderabad, August 28: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju chaired a review meeting on Hyderabad Metro Rail at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat on Friday.
The meeting assessed key issues and the progress of ongoing Metro Rail projects.
Furthermore, it focused on strengthening urban public transport across Hyderabad.
According to officials, the review emphasised timely implementation of all ongoing Metro Rail initiatives.
Jaju directed officials to ensure projects meet their deadlines. Additionally, the meeting discussed Hyderabad’s future mobility needs as the city continues to expand rapidly.
Moreover, urban public transport remains a top priority for the Telangana government.
Hyderabad Metro Rail is a key part of this plan. As a result, regular high-level reviews are conducted to track progress and resolve bottlenecks quickly.

Furthermore, Hyderabad Metro Rail currently operates across three corridors covering approximately 69 kilometres. The network connects key areas including Miyapur, LB Nagar, Nagole, Ameerpet, and Jubilee Bus Station. Consequently, it serves lakhs of daily commuters across the twin cities.
Meanwhile, the state government is actively pursuing metro expansion. New corridors are planned to extend connectivity to areas currently not served by the network.
