Hyderabad, Sept. 1: The iPhone 18 Pro Max could bring a major camera upgrade alongside a faster chip and larger battery. Apple is expected to unveil the flagship on September 9, although the company has not confirmed the launch details.
Reports suggest Apple could announce the iPhone 18 Pro Max alongside the iPhone 18 Pro. The company may also introduce its first foldable iPhone at the event.
However, Apple has yet to confirm the specifications, pricing or launch date. Therefore, the details remain based on leaks and industry reports.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max could also cost more than its predecessor. Analysts expect Apple to raise prices by $100 to $200 because of higher component costs.
Memory and storage demand linked to artificial intelligence could push production costs higher. As a result, the 256GB model could start at around $1,299 in global markets.
In India, the starting price could reach around Rs 1,69,900 or more. Apple has not announced an official India price yet.
iPhone 18 Pro Max camera upgrade could be the biggest change
The design may retain much of the current Pro Max appearance. Reports point to a raised camera bar and a premium metal and glass construction.
Apple could also introduce a new Dark Cherry colour. Black, Silver and a lighter Blue finish could join the lineup.
The phone may weigh about 240 grams. A larger battery and upgraded camera hardware could contribute to the increased weight.
The display could retain a 6.9 inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, reports continue to suggest under display Face ID, although its inclusion remains uncertain.
The biggest hardware change could come to the main camera. The iPhone 18 Pro Max may retain a triple 48MP camera system.
However, Apple could add variable aperture technology to the main camera. This system allows users to control the amount of light entering the sensor.
Consequently, it could improve low light photography and provide greater control over portraits. It could also create more natural background blur.
Reports suggest Apple may reserve the variable aperture system for the iPhone 18 Pro Max. That move could give the larger model a stronger advantage over the smaller Pro version.
The flagship could also feature the A20 Pro chip. Reports link the processor to TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing process, which could improve performance and efficiency.
The phone may offer 12GB of RAM and storage options from 256GB to 2TB. Its battery could also grow to between 5,321mAh and 5,567mAh.
If these reports prove accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could focus on hardware refinements rather than a complete redesign. Apple is expected to reveal the final specifications and pricing at its September event.
